Gardner Statement On Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act

Washington, DC – Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO), member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, released the following statement today on the Senate’s passage, by a vote of 98-1, of the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act:

“From the beginning of these negotiations, I have insisted that Congress must have a voice in any deal agreed to by President Obama and the ruling regime of Iran. The Iranian regime is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism. They have targeted Americans for assassination. They have aided, abetted, and armed enemies of the United States. They cannot be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon. This Act must not be the end of Congress’ role overseeing any Iran nuclear agreement, but rather the beginning of our efforts to ensure the Administration holds Iran accountable.
