Gardner Statement on FERC Denial of Jordan Cove

Washington, DC – Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) released the following statement today after the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) announcement to deny a re-hearing for the reconsideration of the Jordan Cove Energy Project and Pacific Gas Connector Pipeline:

“Once again FERC has denied the application of Jordan Cove to export liquefied natural gas (LNG), shutting down their pipeline, and preventing them from getting the assistance they need to open the facility to be able to export LNG to our allies. This is nothing more than a misguided attempt to stop exporting LNG completely, a commonsense energy resource, out of the Rockies to our allies in the West.

“I wholeheartedly disagree with FERC’s decision, and I will continue to work tirelessly to make sure that the federal government plays no role in deciding what types of energy are suitable for the marketplace. There is no sensible explanation for denying opportunities for economic growth and job creation."
