Gardner Statement on Conclusion of TPP Negotiations

Washington, DC – Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO), Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific, and International Cybersecurity Policy, released the following statement today following the announced agreement on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP):

“The Trans-Pacific Partnership has the potential to reshape America’s relationship with the nations of the Pacific Rim, enhance U.S. leadership in this critically important region, and provide a major boost to our economy. Trade with these nations already supports hundreds of thousands of jobs in Colorado alone, and TPP has the potential to create even more.

“I look forward to carefully reviewing the deal that the President sends over to Congress.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said that the Senate will review this agreement in the coming months before holding vote.
