“Today marks 19 years since that fateful morning in 2001, when terrorists attacked our country and nearly 3,000 innocent Americans lost their lives. From the World Trade Center to the Pentagon and Flight 93, these terrorists tried to put fear in the heart of every American and attack our very way of life,” said Senator Gardner.
“But they failed. In the wake of September 11th, our country came together. We realized that much more unites us than divides us. We must always remember that no matter the challenge, no matter the tragedy, nothing can stack up to the United States of America. And so today, 19 years later, we renew our promise that we have not forgotten 9/11, and we will never forget.”
Cory Gardner is a member of the U.S. Senate serving Colorado. He sits on the Energy & Natural Resources Committee, the Foreign Relations Committee, the Commerce, Science, & Transportation Committee, and is the Chairman of the Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific, and International Cybersecurity Policy.
