Gardner: Obamacare Continues to Drive Up Costs, Harming Colorado's Economy and Restricting Choice

Washington, DC – Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) released a statement today following new reports of rising healthcare costs for Colorado citizens and businesses:

"Within just the past few weeks, Coloradans have seen and endured some of the worst consequences of Obamacare. Premiums are continuing to increase. The CO-OP established by the law, which was supposed to provide low-cost care, has collapsed, taking thousands of healthcare plans and tens of millions in taxpayer loans with it. And today, there are new reports of rising costs for Colorado businesses which are being passed directly on to employees and consumers.

"This chaos and these rising costs are exactly what the people of Colorado were promised Obamacare would prevent. The myth of Obamacare's cost controls has been dispelled. The myth of Obamacare increasing choices has been dispelled. This misguided law is a weight around the neck of our nation's economy, and it's doing little to make us healthier. I’ve heard from thousands of Coloradans who are tired of the broken promises. It's time for a new approach."
