Gardner: “It’s time for the VA to deliver”
Denver, CO – Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) issued the following statement after the conclusion of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs field hearing on the VA Hospital in Aurora:
“I’m glad that members of the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs came to Aurora, toured the construction site, and held this field hearing. It’s important that leaders in Washington are aware of how the VA’s mismanagement of this critical project has harmed veterans in Colorado and the entire Rocky Mountain region. It is my hope that, following today’s hearing, the VA got the message that it’s long past time for this project to be completed.
“That’s why I urged the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs to hold this hearing, and it’s why I’ve introduced legislation to reform the construction process and ensure that this hospital, and future facilities across the country, are completed on time and on budget. Our veterans deserve the best. It’s time for the VA to deliver.”
