Gardner Applauds Nearly $9.3 Million from USDA for K.C. Electric Association

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) applauded the announcement that K.C. Electric Association, a rural electric cooperative serving Eastern Colorado, will receive a total of $9,295,000 in financing from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Electric Infrastructure Loan and Loan Guarantee Program to connect consumers and build and improve 49 miles of line.

“I’m excited to see this important funding delivered to K.C. Electric Association from the USDA,” said Senator Gardner. “I will continue fighting to improve energy infrastructure in all areas of Colorado to ensure our energy needs are met.”

According to USDA, Electric Infrastructure Loan and Loan Guarantee Program funding finances the construction of electric distribution, transmission, and generation facilities required to improve electric service in rural areas as well as demands side management, energy conservation programs, and on-grid and off-grid renewable energy systems.
