Gardner Applauds Jobs Growth and Wage Increase for Month of October

Washington, DC- Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) released the following statement regarding the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ announcement that wages are rising the highest in nearly a decade and that the economy added over 250,000 jobs the last month. 

“Wages are rising in Colorado and new jobs are being created because of sustained, strong economic growth,”said Senator Gardner. “This great news proves that when we advance policies that reduce taxes on hard working families and make it easier for businesses to hire new employees our state will keep moving in the right direction.”

Stats on Growing Economy

-Wages have increased by nearly 3.1 percent, the highest in nearly a decade, beating expectations

-The economy added 250,000 jobs in October, also beating expectations

-The unemployment rate of 3.7 percent is the lowest since December 1969

-The labor force participation rate ticked up to 62.9% from 62.7%
