Gardner Applauds $4M Grants to Improve Colorado Airports

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO), a member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, applauded the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) announcement that Colorado will receive $4 million in Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant funding. The Durango-La Plata County Airport will receive $2,500,000 to acquire land for development, and the Yampa Valley Airport in Hayden will receive $1,500,000 to expand the terminal building.

“With Colorado’s growing economy and population, it’s important to modernize our infrastructure and transportation systems to better serve the people of Colorado,” said Senator Gardner. “This funding announcement is welcome news, and I will continue to support the transportation priorities of local Colorado communities at the federal level.”
