Gardner Announces Judicial Evaluation Committee Recommendations

Washington, DC – Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) announced today that his Judicial Evaluation Committee, which was announced in August and is comprised of eleven legal experts, has unanimously recommended four highly qualified legal professionals as potential nominees to fill the vacancy on the U.S. District Court of Colorado created by Judge Robert Blackburn’s move to senior status.

The committee reviewed a large number of applications and interviewed twelve finalists. Of those twelve, the committee recommended Magistrate Judge Kristen Louise Mix, Patrick O’Rourke, Regina Marie Rodriguez, and Samuel David Walker.

“I appreciate the hard work done by the Judicial Evaluation Committee,” Gardner said. “They devoted countless hours to carefully reviewing applicants and interviewing finalists in order to ensure that Colorado has the most qualified legal mind possible on the federal bench. I look forward to reviewing their recommendations and making progress towards filling this vacancy.”
