Gardner Announces $2.2 Million for CO Division of Fire Prevention & Control
Washington, DC – Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) announced today the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control $2,203,499.96. According to FEMA, the funds are “for fire suppression efforts taken as a result of FEMA-FM-5027-CO (Colorado Black Forest Fire), and is authorized under Section 420 of the Robert T Stafford Act.”
"I'm pleased FEMA is reimbursing Colorado for the their response to the Colorado Black Forest Fire that occurred in 2013,” Gardner said. “This was a major disaster that affected countless Coloradans. It's important the federal government recognizes the essential role the Colorado Department of Fire Prevention and Control took in responding to this disaster. I will continue to ensure our local communities receive the necessary support they deserve from the federal government."
