Gardner Announces $1 Million Grant for Colorado Wildfire Mitigation
Washington, DC– Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) today released the below statement following the announcement of a partnership between the United States Forest Service (USFS), the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and the American Forest Foundation (AFF). These groups will work with private landowners to reduce the risk of wildfires through various mitigation projects in the Upper South Platte region.
“Wildfire mitigation is important because it can protect property and save lives,” said Gardner. “This public-private partnership is a great example of the federal government working with private landowners and local governments on behalf of Colorado communities. I will continue to be a voice for Colorado at the federal level to ensure Coloradans receive the resources they need.”
